SkinCare 101: The Don’t s of Mixing Ingredients
Hey Guys,
Okay guys I hope you like this post. I know it is alot to take in, but the results are amazing when you find the right combinations.
Today, it is all about the ingredients in your skincare.
Whether you're new to skincare or you wanna take your routine to new levels, which for me was upgrading from simply a cleasnser and moisturizer, I've got some great pointers for you.
So you have done your research and read reviews and purchased all your products specifically for skin type, now you just need to figure out whether the ingredients in all your creams, serums and masks work harmoniously.
Welcome to Skincare 101
Let's get strarted!!!
It is really important that the products in your routine compliment each other if you want to see results, this is second to choosing formulas for your issues and skin type. You do not want to mix ingredients without proper knowledge of how they may interact with other ingredients because that will be a waste of money and time to which we've got none of that to lose.
Don’t Mix |
Reason |
Retinol + AHA/BHA Acids |
AHA/BHA acids
are exfoliating, which can dry out skin and cause further irritation if your
skincare routine already includes retinol |
Benzoyl Peroxide + Retinol |
Cancel each other
out rendering them less effective |
Retinol + Vitamin C |
Best used at
opposite times of day |
Niacinamide + Vitamin C |
Potency is
diminished when used together, unless application is spaced by at least 10
minutes between each serum |
SPF + Makeup/Moisturizers |
Sunscreen
should be applied as a single layer to preserve the protection factors |
Okay guys I hope you like this post. I know it is alot to take in, but the results are amazing when you find the right combinations.
Thanks Guys
I will catch you in the next one.
