SkinCare 101: The Do's with Mixing Ingredients
Hey Guys.
I recently posted about the don'ts in skincare ingredients but what about the do's.
I love researching what combination of ingredients will give me the best results in my routine. Similar to the previous post I will be giving a curated table about the Do's
Let's get Started!!
Do Mix |
Reason |
Retinol +
Hyaluronic Acid, Ceramides, SPF |
Hyaluronic
acid can draw and hold water molecules to the surface layers of your skin, ceramides
help seal in moisture. Retinol can make you more sensitive to the sun hence
SPF |
Vitamin C
+ Antioxidants, SPF |
When combined
with antioxidants (vitamin E) it can boost results and efficiency, same goes
for wearing vitamin C under sunscreen |
HA/BHA Acids
+ Moisturizing Ingredients and SPF |
Moisturizing
after applying AHA and BHA limits irritation. E.g. ceramides, hyaluronic
acid, glycerin to hydrate and soothe skin |
Benzoyl
Peroxide + Hydrating Ingredients, SPF |
Can buffer
the dehydrating effects of benzoyl peroxide. |
Niacinamide
+ (almost) every ingredient in your skincare routine |
Niacinamide
is an anti-inflammatory, causing minimal reaction to the skin and side
effects such as irritation are unusual |
Note guys that SPF should be applied daily for protection.
I know that it is alot of trial and error and your skin may be sensitive to and have reactions to different ingredients/ products. Fear not and don't give up beacuse the perfect combo is right around corner. The results will be worth it.
365 days of feeling yourself.
Thanks Guys, I hope you enjoyed and I will
Catch you in the next one
